About Louisville Chiropractor, Dr. Nicolai Hansen
As Joe Friday Often Said, "Just the Facts". So Here They Are....

I graduated in 1992 from National University of Health Sciences with a bachelor's degree in Human Biology (BS) and a Doctorate (DC) in Chiropractic. I had previously completed about 120 credit hours toward a biology degree at William Paterson College and Rutgers University.
Since receiving my DC I've worked a couple associateships, been involved in setting up a primary care office for an MD back in Jersey City, NJ, was staff doctor at Kentuckiana Children's center and continue to work as a chiropractor in a multidisciplinary setting with MDs and an orthopedist at Chambers Medical Group.
I started private practice here on the south side of Louisville in 1997. As a Louisville chiropractor, I picked up a proficiency rating from Activator Methods in 1998 and did post doctoral studies in Sacral Occipital Technique, homeopathy and botanical medicine.
Currently, I hold an advanced proficiency rating from activator methods which requires a commitment to having my skills reassessed and being brought up to speed on updated research on an annual basis.
My approach is simple. I believe that health is among our most valuable possessions. And while I generally meet people after they’ve lost their health, my commitment is two-fold:
1. Chiropractic for Relief Care
When many people seek care in our practice they have one goal: relief. So that’s where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several obligations:
- Uncover the underlying cause of the health problem
- Suggest a care plan to produce the fastest results possible
- Offer ways patients can participate in their recovery
- Explain the value of post-symptomatic wellness care
2. Chiropractic for Wellness Care
Although I may make some recommendation as to nutritional, homeopathic or herbal intervention, I concentrate on healing through the classical chiropractic theory. This involves locating neurological interference (subluxation) whether it is caused by trauma, toxins, stress or other reasons. Because the body heals itself - removal of this interference will usually positively effect the patient's health in ways that might seem rather surprising.
You’re in Charge
I see myself as a servant. Patients "hire" me as their Louisville chiropractor to get them to where they want to go. I do my best to get them there through chiropractic. I do not see myself as a preacher, guru or task master. Each patient sets their own health goals and I respect that. Chiropractic can play a huge role no matter what your goal is.
